A funny thing happened last week, one of our fans who runs a Jack Kirby art blog in spanish asked if he could translate last week’s comic for his blog. I agreed. It appears to have spawned 32 comments over there, but I have no idea what they are saying until I use Google language filter. It could be a big debate, or people loving it. I have no idea… for your enjoyment, YIRMUMAH IN SPANISH!

A llama tried to attack a man and later head-butted a deputy’s patrol car in Cleveland County. A man called for help after the animal escaped a nearby pasture and tried to attack him. A county sheriff’s detective was in the area and responded to the call. But when the detective arrived, the llama had a plan of its own. The detective tried to distract the llama by blowing a horn and sounding his siren, but it didn’t work. At one point the llama head-butted the detective’s patrol car.
Authorities later found the pasture from which the llama had escaped and, with the help of animal control officers, they got the animal back inside the gate. When animal control officers opened the pasture gate, the detective drove his car in and the llama followed. The detective did a U-turn, came back out and shut the gate.
UNCUT AUDIO:
Man Calls 911 To Report Llama Attack
“He was after me,” Griffin said. “I don’t know why he was after me.”He added: “That thing jumped on me and knocked me over into a wood pile.”Griffin said he ran from the llama and jumped into his car for cover. The animal then attacked his car, he said, head-butting it and hitting it with its hooves.“He was all over me and that car, both,” Griffin said.Griffin then made a 911 call that stunned dispatchers.“Your phone is breaking up. What’s got you hemmed up?” the dispatcher asked.“A llama,” Griffin said.“A llama?” the dispatcher replied.A Cleveland County detective came and tried to scare the llama away with his horn and siren. It then started to chase his car.The officer led the animal back into his fenced-in pasture, then did a U-turn, came back out and shut the fence. He said minutes later, the llama was calm and approachable. The animal’s owner said the llama just likes to smell new people.

Archive Update: PV Comics saga, 2004 Elections and more
by DJ Coffman on February 14, 2011 at 6:02 pmI’ve uploaded a bunch of strips to the archives this morning, along with commentary. August 2004 – October 2004- It finishes up the PV Comics era, all original comics about Scott Kurtz and the Uber-Geek, Yir-Action figures and cruised into the 2004 elections where we ran our happy tap dancing ass for president with the “Make Yir-Ass Happy” party.

That last one is one of my favorites. I still wish Canadians could vote in our elections. Nuff said.
Long story short, Yirmumah is back after like a 10 month hiatus… here’s why.
#1 Yirmumah has a long history (1998) and I still hear from fans all the time hoping and wishing that it comes back. Even when I try to kill it off, it just keeps coming back. It’s not just a comic, it represents some sort of wacked out way of life that the fans relate to. That’s humbling.
#2 Chris Crosby, webcomic legend and founder of Keenspot talked me into it. Well, not REALLY, but he was inquiring what had happened to the old archives which lead to conversations about bringing Yirmumah back to Keenspot in a permanent and ongoing way.
#3 I had done broke the old archives. Over 800 strips (maybe over 1000 if you count comic pages and print work) was GONE. actually I didn’t break it, I just woke up one day to a fan asking me why he couldn’t read through the old archives anymore…. and I was like WTF??? Tried my best to get that old archive code working, but I believe it was toast with my host’s upgrading to futuristic PHP…. and conveniently a large majority of my archives were copied on my OLD keenspot account… so there you have it.
Update Schedule & How you can help
Right now, there will be AT LEAST one comic per week. I would actually love to do more though, now that the bug has bitten me. I guess it depends on the reception from fans old and new… Encourage me with peer pressure if you want to see more. So leave some comments, and not only that, share this with your friends on your FaceBooks and Twittertrons to help spread the love.
I will also be maintaining a new YIRBLOG here daily with miscellaneous stuff for Yirmumah fans to enjoy.
THE ARCHIVES…
Like I said, there are over 800 Yirmumah strips (somewhere!) since I have to do a little tedious updating to load batches in, I thought it would be the perfect time to go back and add in some commentary and review the classic strips. To keep track of when I add new batches, check out the Yirblog often.
Thank you, that is all. Happy Burt Reynolds Day.
