I really wanted Drew and Bob to use the assault sub to go and attack Castro in Cuba… but I totally forgot.

Couple of notes on this strip. I find it funny that Drew’s plan was to distract Kurtz by creating a flame war. I must be the Nostradamus of Webcomics.
#2 I’ve always wanted to shoot Bob out of a canon. A torpedo would do.
#3 Since PV Comics had a private jet, high tech labs I figured they’d have a submarine too.
#4 I remember telling the guys at the REAL PVComics.com that their name was too similar to “PVP” comics. The “PV” actually stood for Protean Void. I’m not even sure what that means now, but it sounds cooler than “PV Comics” — anyways, this was a little confusing to some webcomic readers when they’d see “PV” on things.
I swear I wasn’t on drugs when I drew this.
It makes absolutely no sense to have a living pink pearl eraser, but that’s what came out during the writing session and it made us laugh… so there you have it.
I’m also proud of the little “Convenient Runway” sign.
After I was trucking along a bit on my own, a group of friends and creators got together to form “PV COMICS”- I decided in honor of that new launch on the hub that I would bust into a storyline mode and do some meta humor about comics and webcomics in general.
Logan DeAngelis was known as THE DOER because he simply got things done. You give that guy and idea and he gets it done.
One thing I’m pretty proud of is putting a bug in Logan’s ear about how great it would be to have a service to print small print runs of comics. He tested it out with one of the old Yirmumah mini comics I did… that service would become www.comixpress.com – Which also kind of lead to the premature death of PV Comics because Logan got so busy with the printing business. YIRMUMAH MINI #1 was the first product printed and offered through Comixpress.com – And all these years later the required “comixpress ad” you put in your books still contains a little “Drew Price” on it. I get a kick out of going to comic shows around the country and looking on the back of indy comics to see a little piece of YIRMUMAH there.
Don’t get me wrong… I can’t take ALL of the credit for Comixpress, no wayz!!! Those guys did ALL the work. I really feel that just like Blambot.com fonts by Nate Piekos changed the game for indy comic creators to have their work look a lot more professional with pro fonts and good lettering,– Comixpress too changed the game for indy creators to be able to print up a small batch of comics for a show and maybe even turn a small profit without losing their ass. These days, Logan is spotted in the wild much like Bigfoot… he is the legendary DOER…. still probably DOING lots of things.
I do feel like I planted a little seed though that ended up helping MANY indy creators.
Bonus note: I once watched him tumble over like a sack of bricks when he stood up too fast after embibing TONS of Guineess at the PV Comics summit at SPX back then.
